Some mugshots ofThe author ( )
Hi. My name is Francesco Baldessari, Frank to those in a hurry, I was born in Italy in 1954, I have been living abroad since 1977 and in Tokyo since 1982, I have no children, I do not intend to change this situation, I make a living translating technical manuals, and I of course like eating out. I am a good acoustic guitarist (wanna hear a sample of my compositions? Here it is. There are some mistakes in it, but, as Frank Zappa says, what the fuck ... . The file is about 6 MB), a good cook (see recipes), an amateur woodworker, I like taking pictures (Sample 1 and Sample 2), I take care of this site and of my only true love, and enjoy fooling around with computers, sometime building them for friends.
For an even more verbose introduction to me, my site and my motives for creating it, click here and find out all about it. If you are not interested (and believe me I understand if you aren't, or I wouldn't give you the option to skip that section), take a look at the following pictures. If you feel sorry for yourself, they will make feel better.
For an updated version of my face, see the following picture taken in my den (December 2003). For something more fun, skip it and see below. I was told I look chubby in these pics. Believe me, I am not.
All these pictures were taken during the year between September 1996 and October 1997. I was amused by the difference in the way I look and decided to share the fun with my friends.
Fall 1996, at a friend's house, Taliban guerrilla version. I haven't always been an Italian technical translator, you know. *1

Sometime in 1997, in my most successful Sai Baba disguise. I found this picture in my digital camera's memory months after it was taken, so I have no idea of where I was at the time and what I was doing.
I can be dapper, if I want. I rarely do. In this case, I was at a wedding.
and, last but not least, my quiet, thoughtful, gentlemanly professor impersonation (October 1997). A haircut and a pair of glasses can work wonders, can't they?
